Kerala Natanam is a new style of dance evolved from Kathakali. Now Kerala Natanam is recognized as a distinct art form of Indian dance-drama.
Bharatanatyam is arguably the oldest of the classical dance forms in India. It is considered the mother of most other classical forms. Bharata Muni's Natya Shastra and Nandikeshvara's Abhinaya Darpana are considered the sources of Bharatanatyam.
